Academic Year 2010-2011: Cheaper Holidays!

Just to give you advance notice, so that you can book holidays, INSET days, (for staff only), will be on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd September 2010, therefore children will not start back until Monday, 6th September 2010 for the new academic year.  The final two INSET days for the year will be held on the 21st and 22nd July 2011. During the year 2010/11, the Government is giving all schools an additional INSET day to allow for the implementation of the new Primary curriculum, which is likely to become statutory in September 2011. We will be communicating more details about the change in curriculum to you once we have received them. 

Friday, 23rd July 2010 - INSET Day – training for staff only, no children to attend school

Tuesday, 20th April – children return to school for the start of the Summer Term

Monday, 19th April – INSET day – training for staff only, no children to attend school

Friday, 2nd – Friday, 16th April – Easter Holidays

Thursday, 1st April – children break up for the Easter Holidays

Tuesday, 30th March, in the afternoon, Wednesday 31st March in the afternoon and also in the evening – school production of ‘Joseph and His Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat’ – further details to follow!

16th March – Year 4 children taking part in the Brass Concert at Birmingham Town Hall – more details to follow.

15th March – Children from Years 3 and 4 singing in the Choral Project at Birmingham Town Hall – more details to follow.

10th March – Mothers’ Day Assembly for Foundation Key Stage and Key Stage 1 – more details to follow

4th March – PTFA Quiz night and fish and chip supper

 

Phonics Parents/Carers’ Workshop at

Open Day:

There will be a Parents and Carers’ Workshop during Open Day on the 25th February, from 3.30-4.30 pm.  Come along and find out how your children learn phonics in Foundation Key Stage, (Nursery and Reception classes), and Key Stage One, (Years 1 and 2).  Staff will also be available to answer any questions you may have

12th February – to celebrate the end of Careers Week, the children can dress up as something they would like to be when they are older, i.e., a nurse, a vet, or a TEACHER!!! (not that we’re biased!)  We are asking for a donation of up to a £1.00 per child, all proceeds will go to the RNLI, who are supporting us throughout Careers Week.  Thank you!

11th February – Glass of Wine and Chat Evening.  Remember I will be available in school tonight from 4.45pm to 8.00 pm, if you would like to come along and chat about anything. Please give me a ring and make an appointment, so that I know how many people to expect. Many thanks. Please note that if no-one rings to make an appointment, then I will leave by 7pm, so if you wish to drop in then please telephone me before 7pm.
