There are many exciting themes being taught across the school this term. Year 3 are delving deep into volcanoes, Year 4 are trekking through the rainforest and Year 2 are learning from great explorers! There are many more exciting themes so check the class pages for more information.
These themes provide children with an exciting and engaging way to learn key skills in Geography and History. Children are developing their map skills by looking at a range of atlases, both paper and interactive, and learning to locate continents, countries and geographical features. They are looking closely at where settlements are located and what benefits these places provide for it's inhabitants.
When looking at famous people and events from history, the children become more knowledgeable at sequencing events on a timeline. We provide children with the opportunity to study a range of sources and discuss their value and credibility.
Lady Katherine Leveson Primary School has its own rich history and children are provided with opportunities to explore this in more detail.
